Wankarani Settlement Dataset |
The Wankarani Settlement dataset complements the book Wankarani Settlement Systems in Evolutionary Perspective: A Study in Early Village-Based Society and Long Term Cultural Evolution in the South-Central Andean Altiplano by Timothy L. McAndrews (available from the University of Pittsburgh Center for Comparative Archaeology). It consists of the detailed data from the regional survey carried out in the Bolivian Altiplano and discussed in full in the printed volume, whose contents are as follows:
- Chapter 1: Theoretical Background
- Chapter 2: Field Methodology
- Chapter 3: Cultural Context and Chronology
- Chapter 4: Environmental Setting
- Chapter 5: Wankarani Settlement Systems in the La Joya, Río Kochi, and Belén Regions
- Chapter 6: Post-Wankarani Settlement Patterns in the Research Zone
- Chapter 7: The Emergence and Organization of Wankarani Village-Based Settlement and Subsequent Cultural Trajectories
Funding to collect the data presented here was provided by a National Science Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant (Award No. SBR-9510100).
