Location of Test Pits

A map showing the location of all excavated test pits is provided as an AutoCAD file (release 12) called TPMAP.DXF. The file contains the following layers:

• TEST_PIT_NUMBERS (white): AutoCAD text strings that provide the ID number of each excavated test pit. These text strings correspond to the "Test pit number" (variable 3) of the General Information about Test Pits page of this dataset. In the Test Pits Ceramic Inventory page, variable 3, these text strings correspond to the part of each sherd's ID code that indicates test pit provenience. Their insertion points are inside the polylines they correspond to (for AutoCAD or other programs capable of matching text strings to polylines in this way).
• TEST_PITS (green): Closed AutoCAD polylines marking the location of all excavated test pits within the Zingeyka River Valley.
