Asiento Viejo Dataset |
This dataset complements the book Asiento Viejo and the Development of the Río Parita Chiefdom, Panama by Mikael John Haller (available from the University of Pittsburgh Center for Comparative Archaeology). It provides detailed data on the locations of Río Parita archaeological sites and artifact collections, and on the materials recovered from them, all of which are discussed in full in the printed volume.

These data files are organized in the form of ASCII text files that can be read directly or easily imported to an application program such as a database manager or statistics package.
Site Data: Information on each site recorded in the Río Parita study area. | Collection Lot Data: Information on each collection lot in the Río Parita study area, its surface conditions, and the classes of material recovered. |
Ceramic Density Data: Information on the ceramics recovered from each collection lot in the Río Parita study area and their Density Area Indexes. |
In addition there is spatial information in the form of a map provided as an AutoCAD DXF file.
