The data files SITES.TXT and SITES.XLS contain information about each of the sites recorded in the Río Parita regional survey. SITES.TXT is an ASCII text file; SITES.XLS contains the same data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. Each line represents one site. There are 415 lines in the text file, each with 5 variables separated by commas. The variables are, in the following order:
1 | Site Number |
2 | Numbers of the Collection Lots at the Site |
3 | Number of the Map the Site Is Located on |
4 | Date the Site Was Recorded |
5 | Hour of Day the Site Was Recorded |
The first line of the ASCII text file, for example, looks like this:
1,A0001,11,21-Mar-02,7:45
This indicates that the data pertain to site number 1, and that the collection lot at the site is number A0001. The site is located on map 11, and was recorded on March 21st, 2002, at 7:45 a.m.
The last, or 415th, line of the ASCII text file is:
378,A602-3,0,18-Jun-02,2:20
This indicates that the data pertain to site number 378, and that the collection lots at the site are numbers A602 and A603. This site is located in no map, and was recorded on June 18th, 2002, at 2:20 p.m.
