Barranquilla sherds vessel form information

The data files CERAMICRIMS.TXT and CERAMICRIMS.XLS provide vessel form, thickness, and decoration elements for all Barranquilla Buff rim sherds recovered during excavation at the Mesitas community. CERAMICRIMS.TXT is a comma delimited ASCII text file; CERAMICRIMS.XLS contains the same data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. Each line in the ASCII file corresponds to one Barranquilla Buff sherd. There are 1796 lines, each with 15 variables separated by commas. The variables are listed in the following order:

1 Household number.
2 Excavation unit. The number of the excavation unit (grid square) that the sherds came from.
3 Level. The arbitrary stratigraphic level that the sherds came from:
A=0-10cm
B=10-20cm
C=20-30cm
D=30-40cm
4 Finger impressions (1 = present).
5 Incising (1 = present).
6 Impressions other than finger impressions (1 = present).
7 Appliqués (1 = present).
8 Painted decoration (1 = present).
9 Corrugated decoration (1 = present).
10 More than one decoration technique (1 = present).
11 Jar (1 = yes).
12 Bowl (1 = yes).
13 Vessel form if not a jar or bowl.
14 Sherd thickness (mm).
15 Vessel rim diameter (cm).

The first line of the ASCII text file, for example, looks like this:

HH1,001,A,1,,,,,,,1,0,,1.20,22.00

This means that the sherd comes from household 1, excavation unit 001, level A (0-10 cm). The sherd has finger impressions and comes from a jar. The sherd is 1.20 mm thick and the vessel rim diameter is 22.00 cm.

The last, or 1796th line of the ASCII text file is:

HH10,672,A,,,,,,,,0,1,,0.70,13.00

This means that the sherd comes from household 10, excavation unit 672, level A (0-10 cm). The sherd is undecorated and comes from a bowl. The sherd is 0.70 mm thick and the vessel rim diameter is 13.00 cm.
