This dataset complements the dissertation "Crafting" Hongshan Communities? Household Archaeology in the Chifeng Region of Eastern Inner Mongolia, PRC, by Christian E. Peterson (available from University of Pittsburgh's Electronic Theses and Dissertations Database). It provides detailed data on the quantities and location of archaeological remains recovered during intensive surface collections at the Fushanzhuang site, located in the Chifeng region of eastern Inner Mongolia, China.

Numeric data are provided in two file formats. Comma-delimited text files should be easy to import into spreadsheet, database, and statistical programs for manipulation and analysis. Excel spreadsheets are easier to browse, and can also be imported into many programs. The numeric data files are as follows:
Ceramic Inventory: Ceramic sherd counts by vessel type and decoration for each collection grid. | Lithic Inventory: Lithic artifact counts by type for each collection grid. |
