Andean Cranial Trauma Dataset
This dataset complements the book War, Spectacle, and Politics in the Ancient Andes by Elizabeth N. Arkush published by Cambridge University Press. It provides counts of antemortem and perimortem cranial and facial trauma among adults and subadults throughout the Central Andes derived from a review of published sources. Methods, issues, and the spatial and temporal patterns in the dataset are discussed in detail in the volume, especially in Chapter 2 (Severity and Spectacle: The nature of our evidence).
