The data for all the individual collection units in the Yuxi Valley survey area are provided as an AutoCAD (Release 12) .DXF file named COLLUNITS.DXF.

The layers in this drawing, their colors, and the information contained on each are as follows:

• NUMBER (black): AutoCAD text entities that provide the sequence number assigned to each collection unit. These text strings correspond to the sequence numbers provided in the Collection Unit Data and are located within the unit they correspond to for CAD and GIS programs that can link drawing entities in this way.
• HONGSHAOTU (red): AutoCAD point entities that correspond to the location of Hongshaotu.
• 1BY1 (cyan): AutoCAD closed polylines enclosing the areas (1x1m) represented by each of the individual collection units.
• 2BY2 (yellow): AutoCAD closed polylines enclosing the areas (2x2 m) represented by each of the individual collection unit.
• 10BY10 (magenta) represents the collection units of 10 by 10 m and all artifacts in this collection unit were collected. Each is depicted in the map as AutoCAD closed polylines enclosing the areas (10x10 m) represented by each of the individual collection unit.
• R10BY10 (green). Due to dense artifact coverage in some areas, it was not feasible to collect all the artifacts within the 10 by 10 m collection unit. In those cases, a randomly selected 2 by 2 m square was placed in the 10 by 10 m unit, and only artifacts in the 2 by 2 m square were collected.
