Lower Dover Community Dataset
The data files SURVEYDATA.CSV and SURVEYDATA.XLSX provide information on settlement groups, their location, number of strucutres, estimated population, plaza size, dating, and more. SURVEYDATA.CSV is a comma delimited ASCII text file; SURVEYDATA.XLSX contains the same data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.
The coordinate system for all spatial data is WGS84 UTM Zone 16N and units are in meters. In the files presented here, these coordinates have been transformed so as to obscure the real-world location of archaeological sites for their protection in compliance with Belize's Institute of Archaeology guidelines. Researchers for whom this information would be useful can direct inquiries to cadb@pitt.edu.
