The data files BURIALS.CSV and BURIALS.XLSX provide information on location, dating, age, sex, burial type, head and body position, grave type, and grave goods for burials recovered from Lower Dover. BURIALS.CSV is a comma delimited ASCII text file; BURIALS.XLSX contains the same data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.

DATA DICTIONARY:

Each line in the .CSV file represents one burial. There are 43 lines, each with 18 variables separated by commas. The variables are listed in the following order:

The first line of the .CSV file, for example, looks like this:

This means that the burial is from the Floral Park District, the burial is Floral Park Group 2 Burial 1, excavated in 1995, there is a minimum number of individuals of 1, it is Tier 2 status center, the burial dated to the Late Classic period, the remains were interred in a monumental eastern structure on the intermediate elite residential plaza, there was no data in terms of age, the sex was indeterminate, the burial type is secondary, grave architecture is simple, the position, prone/supine, head direction, and bodily orientation were all N/A, references were Glassman Conlon and Garber 1995: 64-65 and Duffy 2004:65, and there were no grave goods.
