The files BOTANICAL.TXT and BOTANICAL.XLSX provide Family and genera information for all macrobotanical remains recovered during excavations at TE 28. BOTANICAL.TXT is a comma delimited ASCII text file; BOTANICAL.XLSX contains the same data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. Each line in the ASCII file represents the number of macrobotanical specimens of a given family era within a given registro. There are 274 lines, each with 11 variables separated by commas. The variables are listed in the following order:

The first line of the ASCII text file, for example, looks like this:
050500,TE28B,West pit,1,Papaveraceae,Argemone,,1,10,,
This means that the registro number 050500 identifies samples from Area B, West pit, Layer 1. Papaveraceae Argemone was identified as present, noncarbonized, with a quantity of 1. 10 liters of soil were floated for the entire registro. There are no additional comments for this specimen as relates to either the Family or the registro.
The last, or 274th line of the ASCII text file is:
050565,TE28D,,5,Oxalidaceae,Oxalis,,1,10,,restos de vertebrados en el registro
This means that the registro number 050565 identifies samples from Area D, a single pit, Layer 5. Oxalidaceae Oxalis was identified as present, noncarbonized, with a quantity of 1. 10 liters of soil were floated for the entire registro. There are no additional comments regarding the specimen, but remains of vertebrates are noted as present for the registro.
