The data files CERAMICS.TXT and CERAMICS.XLS provide ceramic counts broken down by type for all ceramic material recovered during survey. CERAMICS.TXT is a comma delimited ASCII text file; CERAMICS.XLS contains the same data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. Each line in the ASCII file represents one survey collection unit (either a surface collection or a shovel test pit). There are 765 lines, each with 14 variables separated by commas. The variables are listed in the following order:

The first line of the ASCII text file, for example, looks like this:

This means that the ceramics belong to collection unit 1, located at UTM coordinates NORTH 259073 and EAST 1005949. This was a surface collection with an area of 10m2. The test pit volume was 0m3. The collection lot area was 0.034 ha. 33 sherds were collected at this site, of which 25 were identified and 8 were unidentified. 0 sherds were belonged to the early Aguas Buenas phase, 25 belonged to the late Aquas Buenas Phase, and 0 belonged to the Chiriqui period. 2 sherds were decorated, and 0 sherds had multiple decorations.
