Modern Land Use Zones

A GIS raster layer of modern land use zones digitized from a map of the greater Chifeng region at a scale of 1:500,000 (see Chapter 4 for details) is provided in Idrisi (LANDUSE-IDRISI.ZIP) and GeoTIFF (LANDUSE-GEOTIFF.ZIP) formats. Cell values are as follows:

• 0=territory outside the survey area
• 1=irrigated cultivation
• 2=dry farming
• 3=mixed dry farming and pasture land
• 4=recently reforested land
• 5=grass land
• 6=natural forest
• 7=urban occupation
